Given the accelerated pace of growth and limited internal project resources, the materials management project had stalled off and on for 2 years and needed to be deployed by year end. Given the accelerated timeframe and the lack of internal resources to support proper requirements gathering and management of the project, Darby Consulting was engaged to manage the system design, development, testing and deployment phases of the project.

Materials management software is specifically designed to provide a robust set of tools for tracking, managing and accounting for materials in the field. For this project, SupplyMate™ MMS was selected as a rules based materials management system because it enables organizations to set up rules that mirror existing internal policies and procedures. SupplyMate™ MMS was deployed within 6 months and delivered in line with client expectations. The completion of the project led to increased visibility to yard inventory and the ability to manage the day-to-day transactions that impacted inventory. Additional value provided by the application was the ability to reconcile the inventory to the accounting systems in a manner that was more efficient than manual reconciliation.
